Fear⊙﹏⊙

Updated: Jun 18, 2021

Fear is an unpleasant emotion or feeling triggered by the perception of danger: real or imagined. Psychologists say that it is a response to both physical and emotional danger. Some people wonder if Christians also fear. We do.

Our fear is not always one of danger but it can also refer to the Fear Of God. Some people also fear the judgment of God. The fear of God is better understood as an attitude of reverence and awe towards Our Father. Our fears as Christians are sometimes the destructive kind yet we are always told not to fear and be anxious for nothing.

Generally speaking, there are some common fears most people are bound to have. Examples of these are; the fear of failure, the fear of rejection, the fear of change, the fear of missing out, the fear of being judged, the fear of losing control, the fear of getting hurt. I would write on a few of them.

The fear of change: This type of fear is quite common. Some people have their entire life planned out for them and the slightest change would disrupt the entire deal. We ought to understand that Our thoughts are not His thoughts and by His I mean God. Our lives are controlled by Him even those of us who think we do not matter to Him.

The fear of rejection: Rejection can cause so much hurt that can be enough to push you to make crazy decisions like committing suicide. One thing we should be mindful of is that even if the world rejects us, God will not. He loves us and longs that we abide with Him.

The fear of losing control: This is quite similar to the fear of change. Most of us want to have absolute control over our lives hence when things do not go as planned, it ruins all subsequent plans. As said earlier, Our lives have already been planned by God and there is no need to be anxious. Our thoughts are not His thoughts.

Not all of our fears are the same as the above-mentioned ones but all of them can be overcome if we increase our faith in Christ. He loves us and does not wish for us to fear.
