A special post for all my slim ladies (maybe the guys too). Also, I'm putting myself out there with the 'nickname' but no worries.
Everyone talks about how plus-size ladies should be left alone and how no one should come at them for their size but no one talks about the slim girls.
Don't get me wrong, I don't understand why some people think it's okay to talk about other people's weight when they can't fix theirs but today is specifically for slim girls.
Growing up, I earned the nickname"Boneless". If you've been to the butcher's shop then you know what it means. If not, the word is self-explanatory.
It was always "Aba, you're so slim" "Aba, do you even eat at all?" "Aba, you've still not outgrown this dress". I'll have you know that I do eat maybe not a lot but when I'm very hungry, I eat a lot.
Lockdown came and I gained a bit of weight; enough to get noticed. To be honest, it was nice till someone said "Eei Sylvia, you've become big oo". At that point, I was so confused. What exactly do you want from me? Is it to gain weight or to make sure I don't?
Our bodies come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and I'm happy with what I have. Leave slim girls to decide on how we want our bodies to look like and if we decide that it's time to gain some weight, please leave us be.
When you advocate for plus-size size girls, please don't forget the slim girls.
