An addiction is an unusually great interest in something or a need to do or have something. Addictions often lead to a nature where the person involved is unable to stop even when he wants to. People are addicted to a number of things such as drugs, alcohol, phones, games, the internet among many others.
Addictions always start harmlessly and gradually develop into something you can not do without. To some extent, it becomes what keeps one sane and alive. Your addiction keeps you as a prisoner and it seems as though you have no willpower when it comes to it.
For one to be able to get over an addiction, it takes a lot of dedication and discipline. For people with addictions to drugs and alcohol, it would be best to visit a rehabilitation center to help with the process of getting over it. For those with what I would call mild addictions such as addiction to phones and games, it would also be best to have someone who would check how often you use these things and help keep you on track.
Addictions, when looked at from a different perspective, can be good. For example, being addicted to the reading of God's Word and being addicted to your education. This is because you benefit positively from it and you are able to give others the chance to benefit from it too.
You can get over your addiction. You just need to be extremely dedicated and have a positive mindset that you will get over it. Dedication does not come easy. You have to be disciplined to achieve what you want in the end.

Lovely piece. 💯
